Another city, another ransomware attack. This time it's the small beach town of Stuart, Florida, pop ~16,000. Stuart is a small town that is a victim of a ransomware attack that has shut down their email, is preventing city employees from accessing files, documents, spreadsheets, etc AND is preventing it's citizens from paying for services provided by the city like sewage and trash.
Thankfully, as of right now, no credit card information or bank account information has been leaked. However, the city of Stuart will still be paying for recovery services AND is currently not collecting revenue because of the ransomware.
Just because private information was not leaked, does NOT make this a victimless crime. Be smart, be viligent.
